109 Embroidery
109 Embroidery offers embroidery, direct-to-garment and direct-to-film printing, screen printing and transfers in New York.
Screen printing and direct-to-garment are offered alongside design support. Adult, youth, toddler, sportswear, workwear, apron and bag catalogue routes are available; facemasks are also listed. The shop supplies blanks and explicitly does not manufacture the garments.
Brands include AS Colour, Bella + Canvas, Comfort Color, Gildan, Lane Seven Apparel, Next Level, Rabbit Skins, Sport-Tek, American Apparel, Carhartt Company Gear, District Clothing, Hanes, Liberty Bags, Originals Favorite, Rue Porter Lux Blanks, Tultex, Augusta Sportswear, Champion, Fruit of the Loom, Independent, Los Angeles Apparel, Q-Tees, ShakaWear and US Blanks. Ask which styles are currently in stock.
Smaller screen-printing runs can be quoted but may be less cost-effective. Garment selection, quantity, artwork, finishing, ink colours, print locations and method affect price; rush, shipping, setup, special inks and ink changes can add fees.
This design-service fee is separate from the garment price. Other designers may be referred, with fees varying by artist and scope. A returned check adds a $50 charge; ask which dollar currency applies.
The final approved order must be paid and contain all necessary information. A shorter deadline can incur rush fees and depends on availability. The quoted or invoiced time is an estimate; supplier errors, damaged stock, weather, disasters and legal changes can affect completion.
Setup, labour and garment charges apply as needed. Available garment samples may also be shown. Blank samples are buyer-paid without credit toward the production order. Each order receives a digital proof, which is separate from physical samples.
Accepted formats are AI, EPS, JPG, PSD and portable document format. Flatten high-resolution portable document files, outline fonts and avoid embedded raster images. Production waits for compliant artwork. Screen printing suits simpler colour counts; direct-to-garment is offered for photos, intricate art or more than six colours. Maximum print dimensions depend on the garment.
Front, back and sleeve print locations affect the quote. Ask whether woven labels, parcel inserts and individual shipments to your customers are available.
USPS, UPS and FedEx are used at standard shipping rates; tell the shop if using your own carrier account. Drop-off is offered within 15 miles of Oakland, either free or with distance-based fees; ask which charge applies. Transit is additional to production time.
Cash, checks, credit cards, PayPal and Venmo are accepted. Approve the digital mockup’s artwork, spelling, colour, size and placement. Approval taking over 24 hours, or later changes, can delay work and add costs. Obtain rights to submitted designs; infringing work may be refused.
Cancellation and refunds stop once production or customisation begins. Approved artwork errors remain the buyer’s responsibility.
A print differing from the approved mockup qualifies for a defective-product reprint. Another condition limits production-error reprints to spoilage exceeding 3%, with no refunds. Return misprints using the supplier-paid label before selling or giving them away. Garment manufacturing defects, sizing and stock are outside the shop’s guarantee; blanks are inspected. Alternative options are offered for buyer approval when items are unavailable.
The screen-printing business launched in 2009 and is minority-owned. Its own code of conduct covers labour, safety, pay, ethics and environmental compliance for the company and supply chain. Regular hours are normally limited to 48 weekly, total hours to 60, with rest and consensual paid overtime, subject to exceptions and applicable rules.
