How it works

How a print shop order works.

Choose this when
  • You know what will sell and want a lower cost per piece than print on demand.
  • You need a batch for a drop, a team, an event or a business.
  • You want techniques such as multi-color screen printing, puff, specialty inks or embroidery.
  1. Request a quote

Send the garment, colors, quantities by size, print locations and your artwork.

  2. Approve a proof

The shop sends a digital proof, and sometimes a physical sample, before printing the run.

  3. Receive the batch

Finished garments ship to you or your fulfillment partner, usually within one to three weeks.

Before you order

Check these first.

  1. 01

Minimums per design and per color, and how setup or screen fees are charged.

  2. 02

Whether they supply the blanks or print on garments you send.

  3. 03

Turnaround from proof approval, and how finished orders are shipped.

A few useful answers

Questions about print shops.

Which printing method should I choose for a batch?

Screen printing is usually cheapest per piece for larger runs with few colors. DTF and DTG handle full-color artwork in smaller runs. Embroidery suits logos on caps, polos and jackets. Our print methods guide compares them.

Why do print shops charge setup fees?

Screen printing needs a screen for each color and each print location, and embroidery needs the design digitized. Those costs are spread across the order, which is why minimums and setup fees matter.

Can a print shop ship single orders to my customers?

Some can, from stock they hold for you, but most ship the batch to you. Profiles say so when the shop states it.
